SureSmile® Clear Aligners in Lihue

lihue women holding invisalignHave you always felt self-conscious about your crooked teeth? Maybe you had braces as a kid and watched your retainer gather dust in a drawer as your teeth gradually shifted back to their original positions.

SureSmile® clear aligners are a discreet, convenient solution that straightens teeth without metal brackets or wires. At Garden Island Dental, we use advanced digital technology to customize aligners that gradually straighten your teeth without anyone noticing.

Orthodontic Issues Clear Aligners Address

Dr. Chris Godla designs your aligners to apply pressure to specific teeth and gradually shift them toward their ideal positions. SureSmile treats a wide range of alignment and bite problems, including:

  • Crooked, crowded, or overlapping teeth
  • Protruding teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Overbites or underbites
  • Crossbite problems

Traditional braces might be more appropriate for more complex cases. Dr. Godla will recommend the treatment approach that best helps you achieve your smile goals.

The Clear Benefits of SureSmile Aligners

SureSmile aligners offer significant benefits compared to traditional braces, making orthodontic treatment more convenient and comfortable than ever before.
Virtually Invisible
The crystal-clear plastic used for aligners makes them nearly undetectable when worn, so you can straighten your teeth without feeling self-conscious.
Comfortable Treatment
Smooth plastic aligners eliminate the irritation and discomfort often caused by metal braces, making the experience more pleasant and manageable.
Eat Your Favorite Foods
Traditional braces come with food restrictions, but you can enjoy all your favorite foods with clear aligners by simply removing them, then brushing your teeth before replacing them.
Easy Oral Hygiene
Brushing and flossing are a breeze when you simply remove the clear aligners. Enjoy a clean smile and avoid cavities and gum disease throughout treatment.
Fewer Check-Ins
Unlike braces that require frequent adjustments, SureSmile involves periodic check-ins to monitor progress and receive your next sets of aligners.
New Smile Preview
Advanced digital technology shows you how your smile will look after treatment, getting you motivated and excited before you even begin.

What's Involved with Clear Aligner Therapy?

close up of woman using clear alignersThe first step is a consultation, during which Dr. Godla evaluates your alignment issues to determine if you’re a clear aligner candidate. Using 3-D digital scanning technology, he designs your custom treatment plan and shows you a preview of your future smile.

When your custom aligner trays are ready, you’ll visit us to pick up the first few sets to get started.

  • Wear each set 20–22 hours daily. Remove only for oral hygiene, eating, and drinking anything other than water.
  • Each set of aligners applies precise pressure to specific teeth, gradually shifting them toward their ideal positions.
  • Switch to a new set of aligners approximately every 1–2 weeks.
  • Attend scheduled check-in appointments every 6–8 weeks to check progress and get your new sets of aligners.

SureSmile treatment times vary widely. Some patients with minor corrections complete treatment in as little as six months, while most cases range from 12–18 months.

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic X-Rays

A panoramic x-ray captures your entire mouth—teeth, jaws, sinuses, and surrounding structures—in one comprehensive image. This broad view helps Dr. Godla detect problems that might be missed on smaller x-rays, including impacted teeth, jaw disorders, and bone abnormalities. Panoramic imaging provides a comprehensive view of your oral health in seconds and is particularly valuable for implant planning, orthodontic treatment, and emergency evaluations.
